We know you love music—off the top of your head, what’s one song lyric that’s memorable to you?
Before the intro to All Night by Beyoncé, there’s a soliloquy where she says, “My grandma said nothing real can be threatened”. It resonates so much for me because as a millennial in our current dating culture, relationship advice from people who have been married for decades becomes a lot more meaningful because they know what they’re talking about. It reassures me that what will be, will be—that frees up so much of your heart and energy, and I love that.

Best piece of advice you’ve received:
To take my time. Everything in my life will happen at its own pace, and I should focus on myself and not worry too much about how I compare to others.

What’s a TV show you’re watching now?
I’ve been rewatching Avatar: The Last Airbender. Even though it’s a children’s show, it touches on complex themes and the storylines are well-developed. It also explores issues of moral and ethical nuances, which is something I really like about it.

What’s something you’ve been doing recently?
I recently started working out a lot more, and I’ve gained an appreciation for people who can lift that much more and run that much faster, because I understand how much work it took to get there. I’d love to have more physical strength—I want to be able to benchpress a man! (laughs)

If you had the power to change one thing about the world, big or small, what would it be and why?
I want to be able to make people less angry and more understanding. So many times, when we’re angry or when we insist that we’re right, we refuse to listen to others, and that closes the door to so many good things in life.
