I’m from China, but I’ve been in Singapore for six and a half years.
I originally moved here for work, but I’ve changed jobs since then. I like the life in Singapore, and I’ve gotten used to it.
What’s something not many people know about you?
I rarely smile, so that gives people the impression that I’m cool and aloof, but deep down I’m really a funny person.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I like to exercise—I do yoga, I run, and I play beach volleyball and basketball. I also attend boot camp sessions, which combine crossfit and high-intensity training—it’s tough but I love it.
What do you miss most about Dalian, where you’re from?
I miss my dad’s cooking. The seafood in Dalian is my favourite; it’s cooked simply but it’s very tasty.
What’s something you can’t live without?
Probably exercise. I’ve been working out regularly for about five years now, but I only started because I gained weight after moving to Singapore—I just enjoyed local food so much. (laughs)
