Tell us a bit about yourself and how you like spending your time!
I just graduated from junior college and I’m waiting to start university, where I’ll hopefully be studying business. What I like to do is work with kids and coach sports, so I’m currently working part-time as a track coach because that was the sport I did in JC.

Why did you choose to study business in university?
Honestly, I think part of it is for safety. My parents are Asian, and are very against anything creative even though I’m quite a creative person and like to do art and draw and stuff. Since young, it was ingrained in me that I should pursue something safe, so in secondary school when they offered art as a subject, I declined it because I wanted to keep up with my academics and keep money making separate from art. But now, by pursuing business, I’m hoping I can eventually get into marketing to enjoy a little bit of creativity and not lose myself.

At least now, times are changing, and we’re rooting for you! Let’s talk a bit more about your relationship with Izaac now—how did you two meet?
We’ve known each other since JC, but we’ve only been together for just under a year. We started off as friends actually. Now that I’ll be heading off to uni and him to army, I’m going to miss him a lot!

Aww, we know that feeling! But we’re sure you guys will pull through. What are some things you enjoy doing together as a couple?
Fitness and sports. In fact, that was how I first got closer to Izaac—by playing basketball and gymming together. Apart from that, most of the time when we go out for dates, we’ll just watch movies and talk and eat. I guess we’ve reached a point where we’re comfortable enough being physically together but doing different things. It’s just nice having his company.

Yeah, it’s all about making even the mundane moments feel warm and comfortable, huh? Last question: what’s the sweetest or most memorable thing Izaac’s done for you?
Wah, there’s a lot eh. But I think I would say our first date on Valentine’s Day, which was also my birthday. He really went above and beyond to make it more than a global holiday (laughs), and this date was the one that shifted my perspective of him the most. Because before this, I thought he was just a normal guy, very standard, but he showed how thoughtful he was by planning the date so well.

Anyway, I don’t eat beef or pork, so he specially planned to take me to a restaurant that specialises in chicken. I didn’t tell him or ask him to do it, but he just knew to do that. And then afterwards, we had to keep the date short because I had dinner plans with my family, so he just brought me to a park to listen to Daniel Caesar’s album, which was newly released back then. It’s just the little things like that that really got me.
