Transformation and Techno

Introduce yourself!
My name is Aya and I’m a DJ based in Singapore. I’ve lived here for the past eight years since 2018. I mainly play electronic music, focusing heavily on techno, but I’ve also been digging into UK bass, breaks, and garage for my upcoming sets!

What are some of your hobbies?
Hmm… music is always a huge part of what I do, and I’ve been loving the process of exploring new sounds. Aside from music and digging through Bandcamp for obscure sounds, I’ve recently started cooking—mostly grabbing ingredients from Don Don Donki and making something delicious. I also love trying out new food around the neighborhood, like this amazing abalone noodle spot near my place that has the best umami flavour!

Beyond that, I really enjoy experimenting with my personal style and changing up my look—like my current pixie cut—as a natural way to express how I’m feeling on the inside and show a transformation and change inside myself.

Besides Singapore, where else have you performed?
I’ve gotten to play around South East Asia! Kuala Lumpur, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, and Bangkok!

We love your eye makeup! What’s the inspiration behind it?
I don’t have a main style influence, but right now I really love the Gucci selection and current runway series. I loved the make up so much—it has such a smoky and dark kind of aesthetic and vibe!

Lastly, what’s something you’re looking forward to for the rest of 2026?
I’m really hoping to come up with and release my own original tracks this year, and looking ahead, I’d love to play more overseas sets. Europe and Berlin are definitely sitting at the top of my wishlist!
