A Whisper

Fashion Designer Pamella Roland once said, “Nudes are a group of elegant shades.” The term ‘nudes’ suggest what might be underneath; an expression of one’s basic self, like a soft whisper. Nudes are commonly associated with beige, but can range the spectrum from blush to champagne. Many people feel that these are colours to shy away from because, like white, they are not easy to maintain or keep clean, but all it takes is a little care. They don’t have to all be silks or satins; try chiffon, suede, and linen. The easiest way to wear them is to pair them with solid colours like light grey or white, but layering different shades of nude helps to give your outfit more depth. It is important to choose the right shade for your skin as well, as certain colours, against our Asian skin tone, might make you look washed out. Those with darker skin can opt for beige, while camel looks good against a fair complexion. If you have tanned, olive-toned skin, blush tones are a great offset. In any case, this group of colours convey a sense of quiet elegance.
