Fashion, in its own way, is a form of wearable art. Designers have always seen their clothes as canvases to showcase their art, or other people’s art. The most literal and eye-catching embodiment of this is through prints or patterns, and if you’re in the mood for some everyday, mini-masterpieces, you can easily incorporate prints into your outfit without going over the top. The first step is to always start by finding the most important part of your ensemble — the print of your choice. It could come in the form of textural patterns; abstract, bold painterly strokes in different colours, or what looks like blurred-out clouds. Finish off the look by incorporating accessories that are understated when rocking a bold print. The trick is to always have a contrasting solid colour, such as black, to keep your ensemble balanced. We‘ve rounded up a few of our favourite looks from our Shentonistas who have found their own ways to include prints into their looks without looking like Pollock gone awry.
